Mike Bass

Mike Bass

Live jazz provided by Mike Bass

Mike Bass was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan, USA, and began to play the guitar at around the age of 12. Mike self-produced his first studio album, titled Only a Moment, in which he tried to blend his music across many genres (with the remarkable help of musicians such as Linsay Bass, Neel Agrawal, Mike Brezinski and Guinevere Williams), and included Japanese lyrics on some of the tracks. While primarily a solo artist, he has also been in a band called "The Dekoboko Konbi" with Salem Willard, who had regular gigs in Kyoto, Shiga, Osaka and Kobe. Mike's most recent project is a CD for English as a Second Language (ESL) classes called The Moon Through My Window, in which he has taken vocabulary words used in ESL textbooks in Japan, and written original songs including those words that students can then listen and practice with in class.
